Common questions about splitting photos into grids.
If you are still unsure, start with a small poster and scale up.
Is PrintTiler.com a browser-based web app?
Yes. PrintTiler.com runs in your browser and creates printable tiled PDFs online. You do not need to install desktop software to split an image across multiple pages.
What counts as the free limit?
Posters up to 50x50 cm (19.7x19.7 in) are free. If your layout exceeds that area, you can either pay $1.99 for a one-time export or activate an unlimited time pass.
Do you store my photos?
No. Your image is processed in your own browser to preview the poster layout and generate the printable PDF. PrintTiler does not need to see, upload, or store the image you choose for your poster.
I paid, but I did not receive my PDF. How can I retrieve it?
If payment succeeded but the PDF did not download, the browser may have been refreshed, closed, or sent back during payment. For privacy, PrintTiler does not upload or store your photo, so we cannot recover the exact PDF from our servers. Your unused one-time export should still be available if you reopen the PrintTiler editor in the same browser. You should see the entitlement badge at the top of the editor, and PrintTiler only marks it as used after a PDF is generated successfully. If the browser storage was cleared or you switched browsers/devices, the entitlement may no longer be detectable automatically. Contact support and we can help check the payment.
What is DPI?
DPI means dots per inch. Higher DPI means sharper prints. PrintTiler keeps output crisp for large posters.
What paper sizes are supported?
You can tile with A3 to A10 and print on A3, A4, or A5 paper sizes.
Should I print at actual size or fit to page?
Always print at actual size or 100 percent scale. Fit to page shrinks tiles and makes alignment harder.
Do I need to trim borders?
Trim only in seamless mode. Window-pane mode keeps a thin border so you can align pages without cutting.
What printers work best?
Most home inkjet or laser printers work well. A4 is the most common, while A3 lets you use fewer sheets.
Will printing use a lot of ink?
Large posters use more ink than a single page. Use standard quality and test a small print if you are unsure.
How do I align the tiles?
Lay the tiles out first, follow the row and column labels, and tape from the back for a clean front edge.
